HOW TO ENROLL

IN-PERSON AND online music lessons

In-person piano lessons are offered on selected days, spaces are limited. Students are required to wear a face mask regardless of vaccination status.

Our online lessons are as good as in-person lessons. We have mastered the art of online teaching and we are excellent at it. We use Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, or the platform of your choice. Our lessons are private and customized to help each student thrive. We have highly qualified music instructors that are professional musicians and educators with a degree(s) in music and professional experience performing. All our instructors are background-checked.

recreational piano lessons

These private lessons are an effective way to introduce people of all ages to the joys of music making.

  • Have fun and make music!
  • Flexible curriculum tailored to each student
  • Emphasis on fun and enjoyment

*We accept students 6 years and older in our piano lessons.

vIOLIN lessons

We have a great instructor for violin and viola lessons. She has international experience performing with orchestras. Ms. Poon is very patient and loves to share her passion for music with her students.

conservatory style lessons and certificate of merit piano lessons

Private lessons designed for students that are interested in learning the art of piano performance and are considering continuing piano and/or music in college. These lessons include a structured course of technical studies, repertoire, music theory, harmony, musicianship, and music appreciation.

Students enrolled in this program are required to take 1-hour weekly lessons and participate in all studio recitals and competitions. Dr. Alma Batista is the only instructor teaching Conservatory Style Lessons and Certificate of Merit level students.

*Dr. Batista accepts students that have taken some formal lessons and are willing to audition for her.

    performance opportunities

We offer two recitals a year for all our students. There is a recital fee for each recital in-person recital per family. There is no charge for our online recitals. All enrolled students are expected to participate in these recitals.

Students that want to create a performing resume for college and/or want to challenge themselves may ask to be enrolled in the following opportunities. Additional enrollment fees may apply. Dr. Batista is the only instructor qualified for these opportunities.

    instrument requirements

Piano students are expected to have an instrument as soon as they start lessons as we give homework from day one. All piano students need an acoustic instrument that is tuned at least once a year or a digital piano with 88 touch-sensitive keys. I will be happy to recommend a piano technician who can help you maintain your piano in excellent condition.

If you want help purchasing an appropriate digital piano, I will be glad to provide links to a variety of suitable options.

VIOLIN STUDENTS are required to have their violin. Ms. Poon can recommend where to purchase one.
